    1. On the swim timer menu at the top left click on the “swim timer schematic” then follow the instructions. The instructions are above the schematic and will link to a high resolution image.

    2. I’m really interested how you parted out the tube and endcaps. I can’t seem to find anything that would work like you have. Are they pretty secure in there with the O-Rings?

      1. I’m not exactly sure what your question is. The polycarbonate tube and acetal end cap raw material is from http://www.use-enco.com. The polycarbonate tube is just cut to length. The end caps are machined to a slip fit and then the o-ring groove is machined for a standard static o-ring gland dimension. With the o-ring in place on the end cap, the fit is quite tight — it compresses the o-ring for a watertight seal. Because nothing physically secures the end cap other than the o-ring friction, you might be think it could slip off. I don’t have a problem with this. In fact I grease the o-ring so I can get the end cap off. The end cap is sometimes reluctant to bottom completely because the air inside is pressurized as you push the end cap on. When you go to open it up you will appreciate that the end cap is not likely to slip off accidentally. I usually have to put the end cap in a vise, twisting and pulling hard.

        I used material that I had on hand to make this prototype. Next time I order material I’ll buy the acetal for the end caps that is the same diameter as the outside of the polycarbonate tube. It will look better and be easier to pull out the end cap.

    1. To see the schematic in high resolution you need to click on the schematic and then in the new page click on the “2459 x 1834″ near the top of the page to view in high resolution. From there you can zoom in on the image. There must be an easier way to do this but I haven’t figured it out yet.

  1. That’s not only for a night swimmers. Lap swimmers like me need one too, just because pace clock in the pool is not always available even in the day or too far. I thought of making one too and just realized somebody already created one. Please let me know if you are interested working with somebody to develop it as a consumer product.

    1. I agree. The pool where I swim has an analog pace clock and it’s difficult to read the minute hand accurately. Having a both a digital clock and one that you can reset to zero for a swim set makes it much easier to keep track of how many laps I have swum.

      Yes, I would be interested in working with someone to develop it as a consumer product. I would make some changes to the design to make it easier to manufacture.
